What It's All About

I am a woman in my early 20's, on an average salary that disappears on bills, rent, food...GONE! However, I still manage to keep on top of fashion trends; in fact it's a passionate obsession. I pound the high street in heels hunting for the ultimate fashion find. I have fashion magazines glued to my hands, a costly fixation with handbags and a belief that accessories are the base for any outfit...yes; I will plan an entire outfit around a new watch, earrings or ring! So, my reason for starting a blog? I have to share all my top tips and fabulous finds with someone! My boyfriend seems somewhat un-interested in all this. I always have something I want to shout about, so be prepared! Signing off. BB x

Every Womans Handbag

Beau Bloggers Tidy Handbag @ the beau blog

There's something very personal about a woman's handbag, each bag tells you a little bit about who that person is. But on the inside, now that's a different story...full of secrets and tales...amongst all the unnecessary crap. Whatever you need, we've probably got it in there somewhere.
So I ventured into the unknown, asking friends to empty their bags, tampons and all. I found that most bags are similar in content...diary, phone, Vaseline, hair grips, tickets, mints...all beautifully organized.

Another tidy handbag @ the beau blog

BUT there are the few that have everything from the past few months in there. No reason for carting it around other than "I can't be bothered to sort it". I bet so many of you can relate to these women, dated tickets, empty packets, wrappers and even a seashell!

Houndstooth - A Winter Must Have

Never have I loved it as much as A/W 09. It returns year after year, so it's worth investment as you're bound to wear it again and again.

I've just bought a chunky knit cardi from the Monsoon Fusion range (£50).

It's my one piece of houndstooth for this year, don't over do it as it's quite a dominating print. There is plenty to choose from on the high street, from accessories to the perfect print work dress. So however you do it...inject a taste of houndstooth into your A/W wardrobe, you won't regret it.

Pay Days Handbag Sensation

The best day of the month!...Pay day!
Off I went on my lunchtime mission to find this month's fix.
Every month I try to reduce the handbag size, this never happens!
I did my usual wreckie, first HOF...no luck. All way too expensive. Oasis...nope...TopShop...na...H&M...nothing there...Wallis...OH YES!
Now Wallis are upping the ante!! I spotted a suede grey tote in the window which drew me in. As my eyes darted across the shop I was getting more and more excited. "Ooh, nice bag...nicer bag, (gasp) better bag. OMG that's the one"
What a great selection they have this season, bang on trend!
This lovely thing cost £37 and has everything I need, for now. Comfy strap (vital with the amount of stuff I cart around), the chain trend, 3 outside pockets (phone, notepad, keys, perfume, lippy all at hand) and enough room for several mags and my jumbo filofax. Perfect!
Paid for, straight back to base for 'the changing of the bags', what a feeling, how refreshing! Again..a new woman.
Till next time!

Knit is IT

Knitwear is fabulous, it comes in all shapes, colours, styles and weights. It's an all year rounder in this wonderful United Kingdom.
It's an absolute must for this season. But before you rush out and stock up, raid your wardrobe and check what you have left from last year. You could be surprised!
Think about your personal style and your core wardrobe items then find pieces that compliment your look.
A great piece of knit can be the answer between seasons. Autumn can be too warm to coat it up straight away so layer on the knit according to the weather. Accessorize with a scarf, leather gloves and a belt...now you're ready to roll.
My staple every A/W is the long open knit cardi. It goes over everything and hides a multitude of sins.
One of the best places to get plenty of knit for your money is New Look. They have a fantastic selection of cardigans, jumpers and over layers in an array of colours. Starting at £15 you can set yourself up for the unpredictable winter ahead.

Will I ever find the perfect handbag?

A LOT of handbags @ the beau blog
Beau Blogger has waaay too many handbags

I've been searching all my life and not found it yet. Every payday I sprint round the shops trying to convince myself that this is it, today I'll find my 'It Bag'. I purchase another oversized bag and rush home to admire it.
I tip out the contents of my current bag, practically launch it across the room and start filling the new bag with great care, ensuring everything has a special place and is beautifully organised.
For a while I feel excited, refreshed, a new woman! Then...all I can think about is payday, another bag... a new me.
But, what would happen if I ever found this perfect bag??
I would need a new obsession, something else to look foward to with such excitement, something else to do on payday and a new way to make me feel so wonderful and special and proud of a bargain.
I'm not sure I'm ready for all that just yet.
So for now, I'll just keep on hunting.

P.S If I had never bought any of these bags I could just about afford a Chloe Paraty.

The Great Knit Tip

Some days the weather changes every 5 minutes. We all throw on the layers in the morning and whip them off as the day goes on. To accommodate this, pop a fairtrade cotton shopper in your handbag to throw any accessories and layers in as the day warms up.

Too Many Bangles?.....NOPE!

Bangles...the apple of my eye! Stack 'em high and mighty, on both arms. Mix textures, sizes and colours. I will never leave the house without armfuls of bangles.

They make your arms look thinner, they're bang on trend (and have been for at least 3 seasons now) plus
they jangle whan you walk. FAB!

Pop to the shops and pick up a load, from £1 in Primark you just can't go wrong. Go mad!

Wristwear - Leather

So, leather is everywhere for A/W 09. It's a beautiful fabric however is rather pricey, my answer....accessorize with it. I found this cuff in Accessorize for £10. It has a leather base, rope and gems creating texture and interest. I wear it with everything, from dresses to the plain white tee.

Best to wear with contrasting colours, such as white or brights. The key to wrist wear is to mix sizes, colours and textures creating an edgy look. As you will sure learn about me...the wrist is where it's at!
